ABSTRACT:
This project presents the design and implementation of an autonomous cleaning robot integrated with line-following and obstacle detection capabilities. The robot is developed to navigate along a predefined path using line detecting sensors while simultaneously identifying and avoiding obstacles through an ultrasonic or infrared sensing mechanism. A curved cleaning brush mechanism is incorporated at the back of the robot to efficiently sweep dust and debris as it moves. The system is controlled by a microcontroller that continuously processes sensor inputs and controls the motors accordingly for smooth navigation and effective cleaning. The proposed system reduces human effort, improves cleaning efficiency, and ensures safe operation in dynamic environments. This multifunctional robot is suitable for applications in homes, hospitals, offices, and industrial spaces. The project demonstrates a low-cost, energy-efficient, and scalable solution for automated cleaning and smart navigation.
INTRODUCTION:
This project focuses on designing and developing an autonomous robot capable of following a predefined path (line following), detecting and avoiding obstacles, and performing floor cleaning using a curved brush mechanism. The robot integrates multiple sensors such as line-detecting sensors and obstacle detection sensors with a microcontroller to achieve intelligent navigation and cleaning operations.
