Abstract
Street lighting is a major source of energy consumption in urban areas. Conventional street light systems operate manually or on fixed schedules, leading to unnecessary power wastage. This project presents an AI-based smart street light automation system using Raspberry Pi that automatically controls street lights based on environmental conditions and human or vehicle presence.
The system uses sensors to detect light intensity and motion, and artificial intelligence algorithms to make intelligent decisions for switching street lights ON or OFF. Raspberry Pi acts as the main controller, processing sensor data and controlling the lights accordingly. The proposed system reduces energy consumption, lowers maintenance costs, and supports smart city development by providing an efficient, automated, and intelligent lighting solution.
