Abstract
his project presents a smart crop monitoring system that utilizes the STM32 microcontroller to assess essential soil parameters such as nutrient levels (NPK), pH value, temperature, and moisture content. The system provides real-time analysis of soil health to support efficient crop management and informed decision-making. By integrating multiple soil and environmental sensors, this system offers a low-cost, scalable, and accurate platform for monitoring agricultural conditions. The data collected is displayed in real-time and can be used for further processing or remote transmission, laying the foundation for precision farming and sustainable agriculture practices.
Introduction
Modern agriculture faces challenges such as reduced soil fertility, improper irrigation, and nutrient mismanagement. Efficient crop management requires timely monitoring of soil parameters. Traditional methods of soil testing are labor-intensive and not feasible for continuous monitoring. This project proposes an embedded system-based solution using STM32 microcontroller and a suite of sensors for real-time soil condition monitoring. The system can help farmers track soil nutrients and conditions, enabling timely interventions such as fertilization, irrigation, and crop rotation.
