Abstract
The Accident Detection and Alert System using Arduino, ESP8266, GPS, Accelerometer, Fire Sensor, LCD, and Blynk is designed to improve vehicle safety by detecting accidents automatically and sending immediate alerts. Road accidents often cause serious injuries and loss of life because emergency help is delayed. To reduce this problem, this system uses an Arduino as the main controller to continuously monitor different sensors connected to the system. An accelerometer sensor is used to detect sudden vibrations, abnormal tilt, or strong impact force that may indicate a vehicle accident. A fire sensor is used to detect fire or smoke that may occur after a vehicle crash.
The system also includes an LCD display, which is used to show important information such as accident status, fire detection status, and system messages in real time. This helps the driver or nearby people easily understand the current condition of the vehicle system.
When an accident is detected, the system collects the current location using the GPS module. The ESP8266 Wi-Fi module is used to send this accident information to the Blynk application, allowing the vehicle status and alert message to be monitored in real time through a smartphone. The alert can include accident detection, fire detection, and live GPS location details.
This system helps family members, vehicle owners, or emergency services quickly identify the exact accident location and respond immediately. The proposed system is low-cost, reliable, and suitable for real-time accident monitoring. It improves road safety by reducing emergency response time and can be implemented in cars, bikes, school buses, and other vehicles for smart accident detection and alert communication.
Introduction
Road accidents are one of the major causes of injuries and deaths across the world. Many accidents become more dangerous because emergency services do not receive information immediately. In many situations, especially in remote areas or during night time, it may take a long time for people to notice the accident and provide medical help. This delay in providing assistance can increase the risk to the victims. Therefore, there is a need for an automatic system that can detect accidents quickly and send alerts to responsible persons or emergency services.
The Accident Detection and Alert System using Arduino, ESP8266, GPS, Accelerometer, Fire Sensor, LCD, and Blynk is developed to solve this problem by detecting accidents automatically and sending real-time alerts. In this system, Arduino acts as the main controller that processes the data from different sensors. The accelerometer sensor is used to detect sudden vibration, abnormal tilt, or strong impact that may indicate a vehicle accident. A fire sensor is used to detect fire or smoke that may occur after a crash, which can be very dangerous for passengers.
The system also includes an LCD display that shows important information such as accident detection status, fire detection status, and system messages. This allows the driver or nearby people to easily see the current condition of the system.
To identify the exact location of the accident, a GPS module is used. The GPS provides the latitude and longitude coordinates of the vehicle location. These details are transmitted using the ESP8266 Wi-Fi module to the Blynk IoT platform, where the accident alert and location information can be monitored through a smartphone application. When an accident is detected, an alert message along with the GPS location is sent through Blynk so that family members, vehicle owners, or emergency services can reach the accident location quickly.
This system is simple, cost-effective, and reliable for improving road safety. By providing instant accident detection and alert notification, it helps reduce the delay in emergency response and can save many lives. The system can be used in cars, bikes, buses, and other vehicles to provide a smart accident monitoring and alert mechanism.
