The Voice Command App with Cloud Functions is a web-based application designed to provide hands-free, interactive browsing capabilities. In the modern digital era, users increasingly demand intuitive, voice-driven interfaces to improve accessibility, efficiency, and engagement. Traditional web navigation relies heavily on keyboards and mouse clicks, which can be time-consuming and inconvenient, especially for users with physical disabilities or while multitasking. This project addresses this gap by enabling users to open websites, perform search queries, and control browser tabs entirely through voice commands, using a combination of Web Speech API, Spring Boot backend, and cloud function integration.
The system captures spoken commands, converts them into text in real-time, processes them through a backend server, and executes the appropriate actions in the browser. It supports common commands such as opening YouTube, Google, ChatGPT, Wikipedia, and social media platforms, performing search queries, and closing browser tabs. By doing so, the application enhances user accessibility, convenience, and productivity, making web interactions faster and more engaging.
The problem statement focuses on eliminating repetitive manual navigation and providing a hands-free web experience. Current web applications often lack real-time voice-based control, dynamic command handling, and feedback mechanisms. Users cannot efficiently interact with multiple websites using voice commands, nor can they manage browser tabs through speech. This project proposes a scalable, cloud-enabled solution to overcome these limitations, enabling real-time command recognition, dynamic execution, and voice feedback to confirm actions.
