The project titled “File Sharing System with Google Drive API” leverages cloud computing to implement a web-based solution for uploading, storing, sharing, and accessing files. By integrating the Google Drive API, the system enables users to directly upload and retrieve files from their personal or institutional Google Drive accounts, eliminating the need for dedicated local servers. The system ensures data security by enforcing Google authentication (OAuth 2.0), file ownership management, and access control policies.
The proposed system allows users to create accounts, upload files, generate shareable links, set permissions (view, edit, download), and collaborate seamlessly over the internet. It reduces dependency on physical devices and offers real-time accessibility from anywhere and on any device. The use of Google Drive as a backend storage ensures scalability and reliability, as it already provides massive storage capabilities and redundancy.
