Abstract:

This project presents the design and implementation of a real-time border security robot using Raspberry Pi for remote surveillance and detection of security threats in border areas.

The system incorporates an ultrasonic sensor for obstacle detection, a metal detection sensor to identify metallic elements, and a smoke sensor to detect hazardous gases or fires.

The Pi camera enables live video streaming via Wi-Fi, allowing remote monitoring and control.

The robot is powered by a 12V battery and uses a motor driver for movement control, operated manually through a remote user interface.

An LCD display shows real-time sensor data, providing immediate feedback on environmental conditions.

This system is designed to enhance border security by combining real-time monitoring, obstacle detection, and the identification of potential threats, making it a versatile and efficient tool for securing borders.

• To design and implement a real-time border security robot using Raspberry Pi, equipped with sensors for obstacle detection, metal detection, and smoke detection, enhancing border patrol capabilities.
• To enable live video streaming using a Pi camera for real-time surveillance of border areas, allowing remote monitoring and manual control via Wi-Fi.
• To integrate multiple sensors (ultrasonic, metal detection, smoke) to provide comprehensive real-time data about the robot’s environment, including the detection of obstacles, metallic objects, and hazardous smoke or gases.
• To ensure remote control of the robot via Wi-Fi, allowing a user to operate and navigate the robot manually from a safe distance, thus reducing the need for direct human involvement in dangerous border areas.
• To display real-time sensor data on an LCD screen to provide immediate feedback on environmental conditions and potential threats for local monitoring.
• To develop a power-efficient system using a 12V battery, ensuring sustained robot operation for extended periods in remote or rugged border environments.
• To provide a scalable and flexible design that can be enhanced with future technologies, such as artificial intelligence for autonomous navigation and threat detection, or GPS for location tracking and geofencing.
