Abstract:

This project involves the development of an Instagram Clone, a social media platform that mimics the core functionalities of Instagram. The platform enables users to create accounts, upload images, follow and interact with other users, and engage with content through likes and comments. Users can maintain a profile, explore posts by other users, and stay updated with real-time notifications.
The project utilizes a MERN (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js) stack to implement a robust and scalable web application. On the backend, Node.js with Express.js provides the API for handling user authentication, image uploads, and interactions. MongoDB is used to store user data, posts, and social interactions, while AWS S3 or Cloudinary is used for secure image storage. The frontend is developed using React.js, which delivers a responsive and interactive user interface, featuring feed, profile management, and post upload functionalities.
This Instagram Clone showcases how modern web technologies can be leveraged to create a fully functional social media application. It is designed with scalability in mind and incorporates JWT-based authentication, Multer for image uploads, and Socket.io for real-time notifications. This project serves as a foundation for developing feature-rich, user-centric web applications.
