ABSTRACT:
This project presents the development of a real-time water quality monitoring system using Internet of Things (IoT) technology integrated with the Blynk platform to ensure continuous water analysis and alerting. The system utilizes various environmental sensors to monitor key water quality parameters such as pH, temperature, turbidity, and contamination levels. These sensor readings are collected by a microcontroller and transmitted through IoT connectivity to the Blynk cloud for real-time monitoring and visualization.
The Blynk mobile application enables users to remotely observe water quality data, receive instant alerts when parameters exceed safe limits, and take timely action. This eliminates the need for manual water testing and allows efficient monitoring from any location. Threshold-based alerts help identify unsafe or polluted water conditions, ensuring quick intervention.
The proposed system is cost-effective, easy to deploy, and suitable for applications in agriculture, residential water supply, and industrial water management. By leveraging IoT and Blynk, the system enhances water safety, supports environmental protection, and contributes to improved public health through reliable and real-time water quality monitoring.
INTRODUCTION
Water is one of the most essential natural resources for human life, agriculture, and industrial activities. Maintaining good water quality is crucial to ensure public health, environmental sustainability, and efficient resource management. However, traditional water quality monitoring methods are often manual, time-consuming, and unable to provide continuous real-time data. These limitations can lead to delayed detection of contamination, resulting in serious health and environmental risks.
With the advancement of Internet of Things (IoT) technology, real-time monitoring systems have become more efficient and reliable. IoT enables the integration of sensors, microcontrollers, and cloud platforms to continuously collect and transmit data from remote locations. This allows users to monitor water quality parameters in real time without physical presence.
In this project, an IoT-based water quality monitoring system is developed using environmental sensors to measure critical parameters such as pH level, temperature, turbidity, and contamination indicators. The collected sensor data is transmitted to the Blynk cloud platform through Wi-Fi connectivity, enabling real-time visualization on a mobile application. Users can remotely monitor water conditions and receive instant alerts when the water quality exceeds predefined safe limits.
The use of the Blynk platform simplifies system implementation by providing an interactive dashboard, real-time notifications, and remote access.
