Abstract:
This project presents a Smart Helmet and Bike system designed to enhance rider safety and vehicle security.
The system incorporates a transmitter and receiver module, where the helmet functions as the transmitter, and the bike operates as the receiver.
The helmet features an accelerometer to detect accidents, an alcohol sensor (MQ series) to monitor the rider’s alcohol consumption, and a 4-channel remote transmitter module to communicate with the bike.
The bike's receiver section includes a GSM module for sending alert messages, an LCD display for status updates, a fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication, and a 4-channel remote receiver module to process signals from the helmet.
The system operates by preventing the bike from starting if alcohol is detected, triggering accident alerts through GSM, and enabling ignition only after successful fingerprint authentication.
The integration of these safety features ensures that the bike is operated securely and only by an authorized rider, while providing timely alerts in the event of an accident.
The proposed system aims to reduce the risk of drunk driving and enhance response time in case of accidents.
• Enhance Rider Safety: To develop a system that ensures the rider is not under the influence of alcohol by using an alcohol sensor integrated into the helmet. If alcohol is detected, the bike’s ignition system will be disabled to prevent the rider from operating the vehicle.
• Accident Detection and Emergency Alerts: To incorporate an accelerometer in the helmet to detect accidents or impacts. Upon detecting an accident, the system will trigger an alert message to predefined contacts via a GSM module, ensuring timely assistance and response.
• Secure Vehicle Access with Biometric Authentication: To implement a fingerprint sensor on the bike, allowing only authorized users to unlock and start the vehicle. This feature aims to prevent unauthorized use or theft of the bike.
• Seamless Communication Between Helmet and Bike: To utilize a 4-channel transmitter and receiver module for wireless communication between the helmet and the bike, ensuring real-time transmission of alcohol detection, accident detection, and ignition status for appropriate actions to be taken by the bike’s system.
