Abstract
The Automatic Tap Using IR Sensor is a smart water dispensing system designed to reduce water wastage and improve convenience in daily life. The system uses an infrared (IR) sensor to detect the presence of hands under the tap. When hands are detected, the relay is triggered to switch on the water pump, allowing water to flow automatically. Once the hands are removed, the pump turns off, stopping the water flow. The system is powered by a battery, making it portable and suitable for areas without continuous electricity supply. This project combines automation and energy efficiency, promoting hygienic water usage while saving water and reducing manual effort.
Introduction
Water is one of the most essential resources, and its proper management is crucial in daily life. Traditional taps often lead to unnecessary water wastage when left open accidentally. To overcome this problem, an Automatic Tap using IR Sensor has been developed.
This system uses an infrared (IR) sensor to detect the presence of hands near the tap. When hands are detected, the system automatically switches on a water pump via a relay, allowing water to flow. Once the hands are removed, the water stops flowing immediately.
This project is battery-powered, making it portable and easy to install in homes, public washrooms, or remote areas. It not only saves water but also ensures hygienic water usage since there is no need to touch the tap manually. The system is simple, efficient, and environmentally friendly.
