In the modern digital era, news is generated and disseminated at a rapid pace through various online platforms, including websites, mobile applications, and social media channels. While access to information has become easier, the vast volume of news makes it challenging for users to find relevant, credible, and timely updates. Traditionally, users had to visit multiple news portals or rely on television and newspapers, which are time-consuming and often fail to provide real-time coverage. This leads to a fragmented consumption experience where important news might be missed, and users spend considerable time navigating different sources.
The primary problem addressed by this project is the fragmentation and inefficiency in news delivery. Users often face difficulties in filtering news according to their interests, regions, or categories, and existing platforms either lack personalization or overload users with excessive, unstructured information. Additionally, inconsistencies in content formatting and availability across platforms further hinder the consumption experience.
The proposed solution, a News Aggregator Web Application, aims to centralize news from multiple sources through cloud-based APIs, providing a single platform where users can access structured and categorized news efficiently. The system incorporates real-time updates, ensuring that the latest articles are always available. Users can filter news by categories such as business, technology, sports, health, science, and general news, as well as by country or keyword-based search.
By integrating a Spring Boot backend, Thymeleaf for dynamic HTML rendering, and Bootstrap for responsive UI, the application combines a reliable server-side framework with a clean and interactive frontend interface. The system also implements fallback mechanisms to maintain service reliability in case of API failures. This project addresses the modern need for a user-centric, efficient, and real-time news consumption platform, providing users with a seamless experience in accessing information from multiple sources.
